For the chef’s first individual challenge, Chef Ramsay asks them to create a dish that looks as good as it tastes. Experts from Bon Apptit magazine will be helping Chef Ramsay come to his decision. The winning chef will get the incredible opportunity to dine at Shutters on the Beach with Ramsay and Bon Apptit editor-in-chief Barbara Fairchild. When dinner service begins, none of the chefs perform up to Chef Ramsay’s standards and nobody is safe from elimination.

Gordon gives the remaining chefs a tour of the restaurant that they could be calling home, then challenges them create three dishes from 15 local ingredients; the chefs must recreate a dish served in Gordon’s restaurant, and Gordon walks out.

Chef Ramsay asks the remaining six chefs to join and form one team. For their challenge, Chef Ramsay pairs up the chefs for the Hell’s Kitchen favorite, “Taste It / Make It” challenge, in which they are asked to recreate a dish that Chef Ramsay makes in his own restaurants. The winning pair are taken on a behind-the-scenes tour of The London West Hollywood restaurant and have lunch with Season 4 winner Christina Machamer. When they return back to the kitchen, the pair are given the cold shoulder by the other chefs. During dinner service, things go horribly wrong, and for the very first time, Chef Ramsay walks out of the kitchen!

The remaining eight chefs are asked to make crepes, where the winners receiving a night out dining at a French restaurant and the losers creating a French-themed dinner service. During the prep time one contestant is injured, and the other three can’t make it through the service.

The remaining nine chefs are given a blind taste test. The winners will receive a dinner with chef Ramsay…in a darkened dinning room where they’ll have no idea what they are eating. Later, the dinner service is ruined by meat and potatoes.

The remaining ten chefs are rolling the dice to see what ingredients they can use in their challenge dish, with the winners earning a trip to Las Vegas. Later, chefs from Gordon Ramsey’s own restaurants help out in the dinner service, which is interrupted by repeating mistakes and one bossy teammate.

The remaining 11 chefs are challenged to create a full three-course meal which only totals up to 700 calories. The winning team gets a day at the beach and volleyball pointers from 2000 Olympian Annette Davis, while the losers must prep both kitchens. One chef snaps back at Chef Ramsey, while another is taken to the hospital’s emergency room.
